How it works

A solar panel on top of the fan unit absorbs sunlight and powers a quiet variable-speed motor. The motor spins poly-vinyl blades that pull hot, moist air out of your attic and exhaust it outside. Fresh air comes in through your soffit vents at the eaves. The hotter and sunnier it gets, the harder the fan works. At night and on cool days, it rests.

A built-in smart thermostat starts the fan when attic temperature reaches 85°F and stops it at 70°F. The humidity sensor (on the 30W and 70W) also kicks the fan on when attic humidity climbs, preventing moisture and mold buildup.

Common homeowner questions

How does a solar attic fan save me money?+

A hot attic radiates heat down into your home, making your AC work harder. A solar attic fan vents that hot air out, lowering attic temperature, reducing AC load, and dropping your cooling bill. It also extends the life of your roof and HVAC system.

How long does the fan last?+

Our solar attic fans carry a lifetime warranty. The motor is a 24V brushless variable-speed design, the blades are poly-vinyl (whisper quiet), and the housing is corrosion-resistant powder-coated aluminum with stainless steel fasteners.

Is it noisy?+

No. The blades are whisper-quiet poly-vinyl. From inside the house you will not hear it running.

Will hail damage it?+

Our 30W roof-mount fan is Florida Windstorm + Texas Windstorm + TAS100 certified, the most demanding wind and impact certifications in North America.
